Obituary for Ruth V. Hammond (Manuel)

Ruth V. Manuel Hammond, 90, of Inwood, WV, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Clary Grove Nursing Home.

Born May 15, 1927 in Shenandoah Junction, she was the daughter of the late Garland J. Manuel and Samana E. Licklider Manuel.

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Shenandoah Junction.

She is survived by her three sons, C. William "Bill" Hammond and wife, Deborah, of Falling Waters, Gary W. Hammond of Chambersburg, PA, and David L. Hammond of Martinsburg; her two daughters, Margaret A. Miller and husband, Paul "Junior", of Inwood, and Elizabeth H. "Cookie" Staubs and husband, Michael, of Inwood; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Charles "Chuck" Hammond; two brothers, Luther W. Manuel and Maxwell M. Athey; and her sister Mary E. "City" Jones.

Family will receive friends on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11:00AM at the South Berkeley Chapel with Rev. Michael Staubs officiating. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
