Obituary for Benjamin Carroll "Jim" Combs

Benjamin Carroll "Jim"  Combs
Benjamin Carroll "Jim" Combs, 61, of Martinsburg passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center.

Born September 25, 1955 in Martinsburg, WV he is the son of Mary Grace Prather Combs and the late Oscar Eugene Combs.

He was a veteran of the US Navy having served on the John F. Kennedy from 1970-1974 in the Mediterranean. He attended Naval Prep-School in Rhode Island and following he attended West Virginia University.

Jim's parents had been owners of the Inwood Quarry where he had worked until it was sold in the late 90's. Upon selling of the quarry he became owner/operator of J&E PC Computer. He loved taking care of kittens and was a rescuer of feral felines. He was a good friend to a lot of people. He enjoyed hunting and fishing; and belonging to "The Brothers" who got together monthly for dinners.

He attended Hagerstown Community College where he received all his certificates for his computer shop.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his best friend and wife of 35 years, Etta Ziegler-Combs; and one brother, Jonathon "Jon".

He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Charlotte.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 3:30PM at Brown Funeral Home. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:30PM to 3:30PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

Arrangements are made by Brown Funeral Home.
