Obituary for Charles Melvin "Buddy" Green Sr.

Charles Melvin "Buddy"  Green Sr.
Charles (aka Buddy) Melvin Green, Sr.,72, of Martinsburg, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Clary Grove with his family by his side.

Born June 19, 1944 in Berkeley County, WV he was the son of the late Charles Benjamin Green and Virginia Turner Green.

He was a Chef at the Peking Restaurant, and retired from E.I. DuPont after 44 years of service.

To know him is to Love him. He was a calm, laid back, quiet gentleman with a great sense of humor. Buddy was a great outdoorsman; he loved hunting, fishing, cooking for his family, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was a very special man with a great faith and relationship with the Lord. He was greatly loved and will be tremendously missed. May he rest in peace with our Heavenly Father.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce Priscilla Brown Green; one son, Charles M. Green, Jr. and wife, Lolita; six daughters, Delia Plowden and husband, William, Myra Marquez, Sonya Burton and husband, Mose, Jill Green and significant other, Bill Shirley, Taisha Brown and husband Dr. Eric Brown, and Jasmine French; 11 grandchildren, Terrance Goodman,Tamyra Walker, Terrell Green, Sommer Green, Megalya Marquez Lopez, Billy Shirley, Amyri Burton, Bria Brown, Akira Brown, Cali Brown, and Eric Brown, Jr. one brother, Wendell Greene ; and a sister in love, Imogene Key.

He was preceded in death by a son, Channing Evoid Green.

Funeral service will be held 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Brown Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon prior to the service.

Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home.
