Obituary for Charles Alford Guesford Jr.

Charles Alford Guesford, Jr., 87, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away on August 14, 2017 in Martinsburg, WV.

Born March 19, 1930 in Marlowe, WV he was the son of the late Charles Alford Guesford, Sr. and Mabel Elizabeth Whorton Guesford.

During his lifetime, he worked as a handyman for Minor Home Repairs and worked construction out of local 616; and had been a local dairy farmer. He was a member of the Bunker Hill Brethren in Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Shirley Lorain Seward Guesford; seven sons, Michael E., Douglas L., Terry L. Guesford, Thomas W. Kimes all of Martinsburg, James W. Kimes of Inwood, Charles M. "Butch" Kimes of Ridgeway, and Steven L. Harris of Charles Town; three daughters, Sharon Ann Tasker of Kingwood, Sandra K. McDonald of Hedgesville and Carolyn Marie Dunham of Glengary; ; 23 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert L. Guesford of Martinsburg and Robert L. Milburn of Hagerstown; and one sister, Shirley Stolipher of Hampshire Co., WV.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Dawn Renee Cook; two grandsons, Spencer Van Camp and Landon Nichols; two brothers, Arnold P. Guesford and Davis Henry Guesford; three sisters, Mary Virginia Emory, Anna Rice, and Elvie Milburn; and the mother of his children, Ethel Everetts L. Guesford.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 11:00AM at the South Berkeley Chapel with Pastor Raymond Martin officiating. Interment will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery.
