Obituary for Bernard Sherren "Uncle Joe" Taylor

Bernard Sherren Taylor "Uncle Joe", 90, of Hedgesville, WV, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Berkeley Medical Center.

Born April 24, 1927 in Tunnelton, WV, he was the son of the late Arthur C. and Gertrude Sherren Taylor.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1945 to 1947; and had been a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and Cooties.

He was employed as a cashier at Safeway Stores, Inc. for 38 years.

He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews and great-great-great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Howard L. Taylor; and two sisters, Geraldine T. Slonaker and Betty L. Nester.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the Chapel with Pastor Phil Brumback officiating. Interment will be in Central Chapel Cemetery.
