Obituary for Christoper Lee Hughes

Christopher Lee Hughes of Martinsburg, WV passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Hospice of the Panhandle of complications of a heart attack. He was 45 years old.

Chris was born on March 9, 1972 in Beckley, WV to Carol Fink Hughes Robertson and Ronnie Ray Hughes.

A graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, WV, Chris never met a stranger and enjoyed going the extra mile to help anyone he could. Chris treasured the lifelong friends he made along his path. He was an avid outdoorsman and found joy in hunting, fishing, and outdoor life. His love for his family and friends was evident in the way he treated them. Chris was proud to end most conversations with "love You" when talking to those that meant the world to him.

Chris was a career pressman, having worked at Arcadia, Quebecor, Quad Graphics, and was currently employed at Berryville Graphics. Co-workers spoke highly of Chris' work ethic and rapport with those around him. After his heart attack, friends who filled his room told his family that they would certainly miss the way Chris made them feel.

Chris was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Ray Hughes of Beckley, WV and a granddaughter, Adelynn Hale of Bristol, VA. He is survived by his mother, Carol Fink Hughes Robertson of Martinsburg, WV, his two brothers, Ron (Jenny) Hughes of Martinsburg and Jim (Jami) Hughes of Beckley, WV, his daughters, Amber Hughes and grandson, Riley Hale of Bristol, VA and Rhiannon Miller, of Martinsburg, WV. He was the "fun uncle" to Zachary (Joe), Drew (Cassy and Elliott), Emily and Jacob Hughes, JoJo and Serena Robertson. Chris was a prized nephew to his Uncle John and Aunt Fay Fink of Kensington, MD and Aunt Barb and Uncle Sam McClure of Martinsburg, WV and their extended families, Memories of Chris will continue to live in the hearts of friends from each part of his journey, as well.

A celebration of Christopher's life will be held at Winchester Avenue Christian Church in Martinsburg, WV at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 15, 2017, with Pastor Ben Manning officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations of sympathy be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane Kearneysville, WV 25430(http://www.hospiceotp.org/donate/) in memory of Christopher Lee Hughes.
