The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James Smallwood can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: Jim was a very special man, and he will be missed by everyone who knew him. It was an honor knowing Jim, a true gentleman if ever there was one. We only knew Jim in his later years when he married Freda, but we always enjoyed his stories of the photography business, teaching Sunday School, and his family. May the thoughts and prayers of those who love him be a comfort at this time.

Condolence: I have known the Smallwood family since I was a little girl. Both of our families lived in Pikeside. Later Mr. & Mrs. Smallwood moved and built their home "FOUR WINDS" in Martinsburg. Sept. 2003 we purchased Mr. Smallwood's home after he decided to move. We like our retirement home "FOUR WINDS".We are sure there our many sweet memories in our home. We often find golf balls or peach seeds in our wooded area

Our deepest sympathy to Jim and all of the Smallwood family.

Condolence: I am so very sorry that Jim is gone but know he will never be forgotten for his humor and kindness and generosity. He embraced all he met with a sparkle in his eye and a smile on his face. God gained a very special angel this week who will liven things up in heaven! God Bless Freda and the family who cared so well for him. You are all in our prayers and I wish I could give you a hug in person tomorrow but know we are with you in spirit. Kay

Condolence: What a wonderful gentleman I met through his second wife Freda.

They would attend and participate in dancing where ever they could for years. They were a beautiful couple who could really dance the night away and dressed very nicely as a couple.

He would always have a story to tell and always happy.

I was very fortunate to know him and spend time with them and his family.

Thank you Jim for your service for our country.

He always took pride in his vehicles and can also remember helping to move him back to PA.

Take care and we will join him someday in heaven.
