Henry Wayne "Wayne"  Burrows Jr.
Henry “Wayne” Burrows, 55 of Charles Town, West Virginia, USA passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. Born February 3, 1962 in Nassau, Bahamas he was the son of the late Henry Burrows and Dorothy Maxine Jones Burrows of Nassau, Bahamas. He went to trade school for welding, but always had a love for animals all his life. He became owner of a horse farm that he took over from his father at age 17. He then decided to come over to the states in 1984 where he traveled from state to state to train horses, groom them and be a jockey for racing. He then ended up in Canada in 1989 where he continued his love for horses until 1990 when he decided to move to West Virginia and make it his home. He groomed horses at the Charles Town Race Track for 28 years.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife and best friend for 33 years, Vanissa Ann Twyman Burrows at home, two brothers, George Wesley Burrows and Larry Allen Burrows, two sisters, Maureen Bastian and Patsy Huston, aunts, Francina Henderson and Mavis Farrington, uncle Luther Jones and wife Dorothy, nieces, Carmen Jenkins, whom he raised, Shavonne Burrows, Narria Burrows, Pamela Bastian, Carez Bastian, Nicky Burrows, Verniqua Burrows, Marquella James and husband Milton, Monique Huston and Julianna Burrows, nephews, Nelson Burrows, Whitney Bastian, Jr., Don Bastian, Carlos Burrows and wife Tameka, Vernesko, Deveno, Christopher and Xazier Burrows.
In addition to his father he preceded in death by one sister, Diane Burrows.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
