Valeri Michelle Dillow Grove, 39, of Martinsburg passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at her residence.

Born May 31, 1977 in Ranson, WV she is the daughter of Donnie and Phyllis Smallwood Dillow.

She had been a registered nurse with Berkeley Medical Center and had been awarded the Daisy Award.

Valeri loved hiking, hunting, fishing, and loved the outdoors. She was an avid Detroit Lions Fan. She was a 1995 graduate of Jefferson High School where she had been a member of the FFA from 9th grade through the age of 21. She had received the McCormick Scholarship Fund and was a graduate of WVU Class of 1999 where she was on the Dean's List. She also attended classes at College Blue Ridge CTC and University of Montana.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, whom she married on June 30, 2012, David Grove; one son, Leighton Grove; grandfather, Walter Smallwood; two brothers, Donnie Dillow and wife, Gabrielle and their children, Brooklynn, Christian, Jolene, and Jackson, Mark Dillow and wife, Ashley and their daughter Josie; sister-in-law, Sarah McKinney and husband, Cody and their children, Hailey and Brantley; and father-in-law, Ronnie Grove.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Louise Smallwood, David and Josie Dillow; and mother-in-law, Patricia Ann Grove.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Ed Grove officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Leighton Grove c/o City National Bank, 255 Administrative Drive, Martinsburg, WV 25404 for his educational fund.
