Obituary for Sidney Dennis Johnson

Sidney Dennis Johnson, 75, of Hedgesville, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at INOVA Fairfax, Virginia.

Born June 11, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Oscar Julius Johnson and Ragnhild Jensen Johnson.

He retired as an engineer for IBM. Later on he worked for the U.S. Coast Guard in Martinsburg. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by one son, Christopher Stephen Johnson and wife, Pamela, of Kensington, MD; four grandchildren, Kevin T. Johnson, Robert M. Johnson, Courtney L. Cromartie and Robert J. Dunham; three great-grandchildren, Devin M. Johnson, Lila N. Johnson and Grace K. Cromartie; and one brother, Frederick Johnson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Sue Johnson; and a son, Scott David Johnson.

Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Howard officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Braylon Conner Cancer Fund at City National Bank, 420 S. Raleigh St. Martinsburg, WV 25401.
