Obituary for Mae Elizabeth Riser (Runkles)

Mae Elizabeth Riser, 95, of Hedgesville, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Clary Grove Nursing Home.
Born January 16, 1922 in Martinsburg, WV she was the daughter of the late Joseph Franklin Dewey Runkles and Rose Adeline Sensel Runkles.
She was a member of Johnsontown Church of the Brethren since 1977. She retired from the VA Medical Center and was a “Rosie the Riveter” at Fairchild of Hagerstown.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn F. Wandling of Hedgesville; two sisters, Dorothy V. Grubb of Bunker Hill, and Nancy B. Poulson and husband, Tracy A., of Martinsburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Franklin Riser; grandson, Carl F. Wandling, Jr.; a brother, David F. Runkles; and two sisters, Margaret A. Luttrell and Wanda J. Grove.
Family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Brown Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Johnsontown Church of the Brethren with Pastor Dennis Rhoe and Pastor Larry Westcott officiating. Interment will be in Snyder’s Cemetery.
