Wilma Naomi Jenkins of Martinsburg, WV passed away on April 8, 2017 at the County Home in Cumberland, MD surrounded by her loving sister, Nancy Reed and her family.

Born February 25, 1936 in Morgantown,, WV she was the daughter of the late Norval and Jessie Shaffer Vandervort. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Seth (Nick) Jenkins, her step-son, Michael Jenkins, and her grandparents, Sheridan and Cynthia Shaffer and many of her loving aunts and uncles.

Wilma was a 1954 graduate of Bruce High School, Westernport, MD, and a 1957 graduate of the City Hospital where she obtain her nursing degree. Wilma was a member of Pikeside United Methodist Church where she held different offices from sending cards to the sick to help setting up for dinners. She also served as a 4-H Leader in her neighborhood and was a 4-H all Star. Wilma also loved to go and read to her grandson, Christopher's class when he was little. She belong to Aglow Inernational.

Wilma was a registered nurse for forty-two years at the City Hospital and upon her retirement she continued to care for the elderly as a personal nurse for those in and around her neighborhood. She had such a loving heart filled with care and compassion for all the people she knew and had the privilege to take care of.

In addition to her loving sister, Nancy Reed, she leaves behind her grandson, Christopher Jenkins; four nieces, Tammy Reed Holguln of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and her husband, Jorge and their children, Jorge and Jessica; Danette Reed-Dull of Naples, Fl and her husband, Dennis Dull; Donna Reed-Ruiz of Richmond, VA and her husband, Henry Ruiz and daughter, Elena Broadbent and her husband, Jeremy; Sheri Miller and her husband, Keith Miller and their children, Joshua and Travis Miller and his wife, Morgan.

She is survived by Phyllis and Bruce Kile; a special aunt and uncle and their children and numerous family members on both of her parents side.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00AM at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Ball officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to the Country House in Cumberland, MD for the care and compassion given to Wilma during her stay there.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Pikeside United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Association Greater Maryland Chapter, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
