Obituary for Matilda Marie Thompson (Spitler)

Matilda Marie Spitler Thompson, 87, of Kearneysville, WV, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the Care Haven Center.

Born March 16, 1930 in Berkeley County, she was the daughter of the late Saylor R. and Martha Cole Spitler.

She is survived by her daughter, Peggy L. Triggs and husband, Wayne of Martinsburg; five grandchildren, Tammy Reese and husband, John, Krista Hopkins, David Triggs and wife, Melissa, Robert Hopkins, and Stacy Hopkins and wife, Charity; and ten great-grandchildren, Matt Hendershot and wife, Rida, Jasmine and Naomi Reese, Amelia & Rivers Jenkins, DJ and Kendra Triggs, Katelyn Amato and husband, Brandon, Taylor and Emma Hopkins.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Hopkins, Sr.; her second husband, Kenneth David Thompson; and son Robert L. Hopkins, Jr.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 11:00AM at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Emmett Keck officiating, of Airborne Church. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
