Obituary for Janice Mae Frye (Barron)

Janice Mae Frye (Barron)
Janice Mae Frye passed away on Thursday morning March 16, 2017 from Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) at her daughter’s home in Irving, Texas at the age of 81.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Hope Krum (Stephen) of Irving, Texas; grandchildren, Emily Masterson of Palo Alto, California, Alex Masterson (Sariah) of Provo Utah; Laura Taylor (Dylan) of Draper Utah; great grandchild Lydia Masterson; sisters Bonnie Owens and Dorothy Chandler.
Preceded in death by husband, Athie Frye, sisters Rosemary Ahalt, Joyce Wolfe and Evelyn Fritts and parents Howard and Ruth Barron.
Janice was born in Charles Town, West Virginia on October 19, 1935. After her marriage to Athie, she resided in Inwood, West Virginia for over 50 years in the same home on Middleway Pike.
In recent years, Janice enjoyed the many cookouts and birthday celebrations hosted by her many friends, neighbors and family. She was passionate about the Washington Redskins and her living room was a shrine to this great team. Though her family lived in Dallas, she vowed she would never become a Cowboys fan. Anyone driving by her home during the summer months would surely notice the meticulously manicured property. She loved caring for her yard, which gave her great satisfaction and joy into her late70s.
Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Brown Funeral Home's South Berkeley Chapel.
A procession to the graveside service will commence at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 22 at the Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Meals on Wheels Berkley County West Virginia, 116 East King Street, Martinsburg, WV 25401. Janice loved this organization and the kindness and nutrition they provided in recent months.
