Obituary for Norman Leon Kesecker

Norman Leon Kesecker, 92, of Hedgesville died on Friday, March 10, 2017 at the War Memorial Extended Care Unit where he had been a resident for the last several years.

Born August 14, 1924 in Cherry Run, WV, he was the son of the late Lloyd Leon "Lynn" and Alice Bowers Kesecker.

He had attended Butlers Chapel Baptist Church. He was a very active member in times of his good health.

Norman was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard.

He was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School and went on to further his education in drafting. He was last employed and retired as a design engineer and director for Quality Assurance-Amerex Corporation.

Norman enjoyed gardening and helping others during his first years of retirement. His last years were spent in poor health and being a resident of War Memorial Extended Care Facility.

He is last of his immediate family, being survived by a brother in-law Richard Butler, sister-in-law Twila Payne and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Johnson Kesecker; his sisters, Lila Mae Blink and Phyllis Virginia Butler, two brothers, Spencer Ray Kesecker, and Warner "Corky" Kesecker.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Brown Funeral Home, 327 West King Street, Martinsburg, WV with Pastor Larry Westcott. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
