Laura Jean Boyd, 81, of Charles Town, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at her residence.
Born July 4, 1935 in Leetown, WV she was the daughter of the late Daniel Edmond Carey and Lena Strother Carey.
She is survived by her children, Clarence Boyd, Jr., Keith Boyd, Celestine Boyd, Donna Boyd, Lisa Silver, Karl Boyd, Anita Pollard, Thomas Boyd, Bruce Haynes, Kevin Haynes, and Misti Haynes; 40 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Carey; and five sisters, Helen Carey, Lena Williams, Linda Gail Williams, Mary Catherine Johnson, and Virginia Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Emerson Boyd, Sr.; and loving companion Thomas J. Haynes; two daughters, Patsy Ann Boyd King, and Hope Marie Haynes; three brothers, John Day, Robert Carey, and Daniel Carey; and two sisters, Alice Carey and Thelma Winston.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 10:00AM at New Destiny Ministry Center, 437 Border Road, Kearneysville. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
