And so that time has come...time to say goodbye to you...our strength, our protector, our father. You will be terribly missed. I'm so sorry we wasn't there to say goodbye one last time. You were tired and wanted to just rest in HIS everlasting arms. It would have been nice to share one last bear hug with you, one last joke and yes, one last story of your life that I'm sure we've heard many times before.
Dad I am truly glad I had the opportunity to spend time with you a month ago while preparing for your last surgery. You displayed such strength and endurance that I just knew you would be alright and that we would have you around much longer. However, I still had this feeling, this inclination, that your health was failing you slowly but surely and you didn't want us to know the true pain you were enduring. Your stoic personality, stubborness and pride would not allow us to see you defeated. That was you dad...a true warrior to the end.
I know you wouldn't want us crying and fussing over you but it's impossible not to. We loved you so much. You were the glue that kept this family together. When we as children argued/fussed/fought you reminded us that we needed to stick together because you didn't have that love & closeness growing up with your siblings. You wanted nothing but the best for us. And although at times you had difficulty expressing your love, your presence showed us otherwise. Wherever we were, we would just look over our shoulder and you would be there. You loved us in your own way and we understood that you were not going to change your ways. Don't worry we adjusted quickly.
Thank you for being our dad, our protector, our provider, our father. Because of you, we are who we are today. Know that you will continue to live through us and not a day will go by without us thinking of you. We promise to continue to love another and to stay close as your children. We will do right by you...we're 'Oney' Bullett's children...loyal, proud and strong! Please send us signs that you are still by our sides and love on us from afar. I know Vincent is waiting for your entrance at the pearly gates, where you both will be at peace until we are all counted & there together in His presence. We didn't want you to go so soon but we know you are in a better place. Truly rest in peace dad, you deserve it. I know this is really not goodbye...it's see you later...it's until we meet again. LOVE YOU MADLY <3
