Obituary for Dolores Ann "Dee" Brown (Cook)

Dolores Ann "Dee" Brown, 81, of Martinsburg passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Berkeley Medical Center.

Born December 31, 1935 in Martinsburg, WV she was the daughter of the late Arthur Franklin Cook and Maybert Lucille Fowler Cook.

She baked for homeless dinners and participated in the Backpack Program in Berkeley County. Dee "the cake lady" will be missed in our entire community.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Franklin Brown; one son, Brad Brown and wife, Traci; one daughter, Melanie A. Grimm and husband, Todd; four grandchildren, Alex Spradling and wife, Laura, Chelsea Maher and husband, Fergus, Emily Brown, and Charlsie Grimm; and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Spradling and Sawyer Spradling.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Porterfield Cook.

Family will receive friends on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10:00AM at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor David Plume officiating.

Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
