Obituary for Bessie Virginia Courtney (Laing)
Bessie Virginia Courtney, 87, of Inwood, WV, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Berkeley Medical Center.
Born July 27, 1929 in Hedgesville, WV, she was the daughter of Luther Lee Laing and Florence Kitchen Laing.
She is survived by one son, James Donald Courtney; one daughter, Linda Courtney; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald "Wink" Laing; and one sister, Jeanette Harrison.
She was preceded in death by her husband James H. "Speedy" Courtney; one son, Randy Jay Courtney; six brothers; and five sisters.
Family will receive friends on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood, WV.
Service will be Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 1:00PM at South Berkeley Chapel with Pastor Chuck Donivan officiating.
Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens
