Kenneth Lee Stanhope, 70 of Kearneysville passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 in the V A Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born October 14, 1946 in Skowhegan, Maine he was the son of the late Claude Henry Stanhope and Rosamond Larrabee Stanhope. He was of Baptist faith. Kenneth served in the U S Navy. He worked for fourteen years at Dixie Narco and for the past 16 years he worked in the Jefferson County Schools.
He is survived by his wife of forty six years, Donna Lee Skidgel Stanhope, one son, Gary Amos Stanhope and wife Cathy of Middleway, one daughter, Stacey Wilkerson and husband Jeff of Martinsburg, three brothers, Larry Stanhope and wife Agnes of Maine,
Jim Stanhope and wife Janet of Leesburg, Florida and Buddy Stanhope and wife Beverly of Maine, one sister Lorraine Donahue of New Jersey, six grandchildren, Bridgett and Gary “AJ” Stanhope and Caleb, David and Tyna-Lynn Wilkerson and Natalie Kidwiler. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by daughter, Tina Lynn Stanhope Kidwiler. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home with the Brother Charles Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant View Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel.
