Obituary for Kenneth Earl "Kenny" Mason

Kenneth Earl "Kenny" Mason
Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high because he has known My name. He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With a long life I will satisfy him and let him see My salvation. Psalm 91:15

Kenneth Earl Mason "Kenny", 82, of Bunker Hill passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2017 as he was surrounded with love by his family at Winchester Medical Center.

Our Dad was an incredibly kind and loving man; he was a wonderful man of God. He loved his family and was never happier than when he was sharing time with them. He has left us with beautiful memories; loving advice, spiritual guidance and a love for all who knew him.

God's grace was upon our Dad throughout his life and he was truly blessed, as we were, to have him as our Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend.

Born February 7, 1935 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Alexander Earl Mason and Mildred (Slonaker) Mason.

He was a founding member of The Fellowship Church of the Brethren in Martinsburg, where he served in many capacities over forty-seven years. He was also an avid Hunter and Bowler; and was retired, after many years, from General Motors.

He is survived by his son Richard and partner John Budzina of Gore, VA; his daughter Janice Smith of Martinsburg, two grandchildren Nicholas Smith and wife Noelle of Selma, North Carolina and Hunter Smith and wife Kayla of Martinsburg; three great-grandchildren Abby Mckenna and Asher; one sister Shirley Mann of Martinsburg, one brother Douglas Mason and wife Joan of Union City, IN, a number of very special nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

In addition to his parents he preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of forty-two years, Patricia Ann (Newlin) Mason; infant twin sisters Earlene and Arlene Mason; his sister Edna Mae Willis and his brother John Wayne Mason.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel, Inwood.

A celebration of our Dad's life will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 11 am at the Fellowship Church of the Brethren with Pastor Douglas Diamond and Duane & Carol Strickler officiating. The interment will be in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens at 1:30 pm.
