Obituary for Ronald Carman Effland

Ronald Carman Effland, 83, of Martinsburg went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 6, 2017 at his residence.

Born April 12, 1933 in Martinsburg, WV he was the son of the late Ronald Daniel and Catherine (Alvertru) Effland.

He was a veteran of the US Navy.

Mr. Effland was an avid Scouter for many years and loved to hunt and fish. He was a dedicated Christian from childhood through adult years and served as a youth leader and Sunday School teacher. He had served on the board for the Martinsburg Union Rescue Mission.

He is survived by a son, D. Tadd Effland and wife, Chris; one grandson, Hunter Effland; one sister, Linda Compton and husband, Jack; a sister-in-law, Darlene Effland; and five nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lvonne Hensler Effland; and a brother, Gerald Effland.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:00AM with Pastor Jim Goforth officiating at New Life Community Church, 4102 Tabler Station Road, Inwood, WV. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Martinsburg Union Rescue Mission, PO Box 843, Martinsburg, WV 25402.
