Adolph R. "Jasper"  Gesford
Adolph R. "Jasper" Gesford, 82, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.
Born May 22, 1934 in Marlowe, WV, he was the son of the late Otho and Cecelia Straitiff Gesford.
He was a member of Hedgesville Baptist Church.
Jasper's was a veteran of the US Army having served in Korea. He served for 3 years in San Francisco, CA serving in the medics and 8 years in the Army National Guard. His brother Clinton was his 1st Sgt.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Shackleford Gesford; two daughters, Mary Rebecca Markley and husband, Richard Glen Markley and Beverly Jane McCarty and husband, Michael Shawn McCarty; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Albert Gesford and wife, Mary Jane, John E. Gesford, Sr., and wife, Pam, Marvin Gesford, and Theodore "Ted" Gesford and wife, Alice; one sister, Elizabeth "Marie" Braithwaite; daughter-in-law, Virginia Gesford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Allen Gesford and Anthony Gesford; seven brothers, Otho Clinton Gesford, Jr., Bernard Gesford, George Gesford, Amos Gesford, Andrew Gesford, Curtis Gesford, and Richard Gesford; and two sisters, Emma Robinson and Cecelia Grim.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, January 30, 2017 with Pastor Jack Rudy officiating. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
