Obituary for Gilbert Lee Foster Jr.

Gilbert Lee Foster, Jr., 69, of Gerrardstown passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the VA Medical Center.

Born June 1, 1947 in Martinsburg, WV, he is the son of Gilbert Lee Foster, Sr. and Ameila Gertrude Marpole Foster of Stephen City, VA.

He was a veteran of the US Army. He had been a truck driver for 39 years having owned his own truck "Taking Care of Business". He was a member of several motorcycle clubs including "Sons of Blackwater" and "American Legion Riders". He had been a founding member of the gospel group "Gospel Strings", in which he named.

Mr. Foster's father is retired from the US Air Force and is a retired minister, which encouraged him to follow in his footsteps with the military and serving the Lord.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Diane Lynn Palmer Foster; one son, Kwinten Foster; three daughters, Kirsten Foster, Deana Ricketts, and Selena Sundy; one step-son, Micah Adams; and one brother, Gene Lynn Foster.

Family will receive friends on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Full Gospel Pentecostal Church.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 11:00AM at Full Gospel Pentecostal Church with Pastor Chuck Donivan officiating. Military graveside service will be held in Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery.
