Obituary for Charles Andrew Gaston

Mr. Charles Andrew Gaston, 61, of Falling Waters, West Virginia departed this life on November 24, 2016.
Charles was born in New Kensington, PA to the late Claudette R. Lovelace and Charles A. Gaston. He graduated from Peabody High School in 1974 and Connelly Trade Center in Pittsburgh, PA in 1976, and immediately went to work for WTAE television station in Wilkinsburg, PA. Charles moved to Massachusetts where he worked for the Digital Equipment Corporation for 18 years and earned a technical certificate from Mount Wachusett Community College. He eventually was employed by Dell Systems in Maryland for 14 years.
He leaves his beloved wife Allison (Fifield) Gaston, step father Luther Lovelace Jr., a step-brother, Wendell T. Lovelace, sister Sherri (Lovelace) Cameron, two sons Christopher Jermaine and Jamil Jabaar, one daughter Yukia Fernee (Gaston) Howard, 9 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews to cherish him forever.
He was preceded in death by his step-brother, Wendell "Jay" Lovelace, sister Carlotta Gadsden and granddaughter Kristina
Embracing a love of music from his mother, at the age of 14 he and friends started the band ‘Black Rock’ where he was the drummer. He encouraged an exploration of music in his children and grandchildren. His love of music prompted him to start his DJ business "Sly Rock Entertainment" in 1984 which will be carried on by his sons. Although he lived in various cities in the North Eastern part of the US, he carried his love of Pittsburgh with him and remained a passionate avid Steeler fan. He enjoyed travel, the beach, action movies, and family time with the grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at 3:00PM at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg, WV.. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00PM to 3:00PM at the funeral home.
