Lucille Mabel Green, 81, from Blairton, WV passed away peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg.
Born November 17, 1934 in King Daughter's Hospital in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Abraham "Punk" Green and Florence Mabel Harrison Green.
Family left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Vickie L. Green of Martinsburg, granddaughter, Chervon Grantham and husband, Michael of Inwood; great-grandchildren, Zion and Zora Grantham of Inwood; one brother, Clarence Creamer of Martinsburg; nieces and nephews, Sharon Brown and husband, James of Greenbelt, MD, Paul Walker of Winchester, VA, and Richard Walker and wife, Sandra of Bunker Hill; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; and special book club friends.
She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by two sisters, Marion Green Bishop and Helen Walker; and brother, Vernon Green.
Lucille loved the Lord, her family, and friends. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God in Martinsburg. Lucille never met a stranger. She was an amazing caregiver and made sure that all her family and friends were taken care of. She retired from General Motors with over 30 years of service. After her retirement from General Motors she volunteered with Meals on Wheels and would often visit, nurse, and send cards to the sick and shut ins. She was Hospice Volunteer of the Year.
Lucille loved to watch college basketball and WVU football games. She enjoyed going out to eat, traveling to unique places and shopping on the weekend with her daughter. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her monthly meeting with her book club.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 11:00AM at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood with Rev. John Green officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 11:00AM prior to service on Tuesday. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
