Obituary for Albert Kay "Sr." Ord

Albert Kay Ord, Sr., 82, a former resident of Dravosburg, PA went home to be with our Lord on July 14, 2016 in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. He was a 1952 graduate of McKeesport High School where he was a member of the baseball team and was involved in many community sports activities both in Dravosburg and McKeesport. Following his high school graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean conflict. He attended Oklahoma State University and was employed by Westinghouse Electric Corporation for 32 years as a Quality Control Engineer in Baltimore, Maryland. He retired in 1994 to Port Charlotte, Florida where he was employed at Long Marsh Golf Club and Boca Grande Tennis Club. After moving to Seven Lakes, NC and then to Shepherdstown, WV he was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and a long time member of The American Legion and The Elks Club.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Donna Mae (Gobbels) Ord of Shepherdstown, WV; 3 sons, Albert Kay Ord, Jr., of Glen Burnie, Maryland; Kenneth Duane Ord (Tammie) of Boonsboro, Maryland; Donald Merle Ord(Tricia) of Annapolis, Maryland; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents of Port Vue, Ralph and Ruth Ord, 2 brothers Duane "Bud" Ord (Betty) of Elizabeth, and Ralph (Skip) Ord (Clarissa) of Dravosburg.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations of remembrances may be made to the Memorial Fund of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. P.O. Box 2008, Shepherdstown, WV 25443.
Burial will be private.
