The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Shirley Vaughn can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: While a student at Shepherd, I spent some time with "Mrs. Vaughn" in the Student Activities Office on campus. I was secretarial assistant to the Director during my four years at Shepherd (1965-1969). I became close to her and her family, having the opportunity to babysit her youngest daughter Paula. Shirley was working on her degree the same time I was a student. She worked hard to earn her degree. Teaching at Hagerstown Community College and living in Washington County since 1975, I often heard praises from students and parents in reference to her teaching. She was a great lady!

Condolence: I was only privileged to meet Ms. Shirley once through her daughter Leslie. I must say, she was lively and feisty as ever. I will continue to have the family in my prayers.

We love you Leslie!
