Obituary for Marie Triplett McDaniel Newcomb

Marie Triplett McDaniel Newcomb, 83, of Youngsville, North Carolina and formerly of Martinsburg, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 2, 2015 at her son’s home.

Born January 3, 1932 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late William Charles Triplett and Lilly Mae Howell Triplett.

Mrs. Newcomb was a member of the Beulah Christian Baptist Church in Rolesville,
North Carolina.

She worked for Peoples Drug Store for 21 years and shortly after retiring she and Homer moved to North Carolina.

She is survived by two sons, George E. Humphries and wife, Joyce, of Inwood, and Clement L. McDaniel, Jr. and wife, Amy, of Youngsville, North Carolina; one daughter, Linda A. Jenkins and husband, Glenville, of Martinsburg; three step-sons, Douglas, Thomas and Allen Newcomb; one step-daughter, Debbie Newcomb; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leroy Triplett, of California; Charles Triplett, of Maryland; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Homer D. Newcomb and Clement L. McDaniel, Sr.; one step-son, Kenneth Newcomb, four daughters, Arizona Ann Riggs, Geraldine Mae Humphries, Shirley V. McDaniel and Anita K. McDaniel; sisters, Anna, Ethel, Dot and Mary; brothers, Cecil, Nelson and David.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., October 6th at the South Berkeley Chapel
with pastor Ronnie Snead officiating. Interment will be held at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
